Does Inside Out 2 have a post-credit scene?
2024 · Kelsey Mann · 97 min
The answer
Yes — 2 post-credit scenes
Yes, twice. A blooper reel plays after a first short round of credits, and then a genuine post-credits scene at the very end: Joy finally opens the Vault and lets the hooded Deep Dark Secret out to confess what Riley has been hiding. It is not a sequel tease.

What actually happens
Inside Out 2 has two pieces of extra content, and they arrive at different points, so leaving after the first one means missing the better one.
The first comes after a short initial run of credits: a gag reel in the tradition Pixar established with A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2, with the emotions blowing takes and corpsing.
The second is the real one, and it plays at the very end. Throughout the film, the Vault — the sealed room where Riley's mind stores everything too mortifying to be allowed out — contains a large hooded figure called Deep Dark Secret, who exists purely as a threat. The film builds him up and never opens him. In the post-credits scene, Joy returns to the Vault, opens the door and says, in effect, 'OK, Deep Dark Secret, it's time.' The enormous cloaked figure shuffles out and finally confesses the thing Riley has been carrying: she burned a hole in a rug at home.
The joke is the deflation. The film has spent two hours on genuine adolescent terror — the panic attack, the belief that she is not a good person — and then reveals that the deepest and darkest thing in the Vault is a small domestic accident nobody would care about. Anyone who has spent years quietly dreading an ancient embarrassment will recognise the scale error exactly.
Worth noting for anyone hoping otherwise: neither scene sets up a third film. There is no announcement, no new character reveal, and no Marvel-style tease. Both are jokes, and the second one is a good one.
