Does Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have a post-credit scene?

No scenes at all: nothing mid-credits, nothing after the final card. What Across the Spider-Verse has instead is a text card, positioned roughly where a mid-credits scene would normally sit, reading "Miles Morales will return in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse." Once it clears, the credits simply carry on and end.

For a film that closes on a hard cliffhanger — Miles held at gunpoint by his own universe's Prowler on Earth-42, Gwen assembling a rescue party on Earth-65 — that emptiness is a decision rather than an oversight. Phil Lord and Chris Miller have said a stinger existed on paper and was cut precisely because the ending was already doing the work. Lord's summary of it: hard to beat where we left off.

The scrapped tag was a two-part joke about The Spot. Early in the film, Jonathan Ohnn was to turn up at a bar for Spider-Man villains and be so far beneath everyone's notice that he could not get served. The post-credits scene would then have returned him to the same bar at the end of his arc, by which point he is powerful enough to level the room and everyone in it. It is a good gag, and it also sits at right angles to a film whose last shot is a threat. A second, more ambitious pitch went to Sony as well — a tag uniting Spider-Ham with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland — which never got past the conversation stage.

So the practical advice is unusually simple for a Spider-Verse film: watch for the return card, which comes early enough that you are not hostage to the whole roll, then go. The one thing worth staying for is not visual. Daniel Pemberton's end-title music carries the film's motifs out, and the credit sequence itself is designed with the same typographic and comic-panel discipline as the picture. But there is no scene. The next thing that happens to Miles happens in Beyond.
