The Things You Missed

Motif

Comic Panel Recreation

A shot framed to reproduce a specific published panel — the same composition, the same lighting, sometimes the same negative space left for a caption box. Zack Snyder built entire sequences of Watchmen and 300 this way, Sam Raimi did it for Spider-Man's upside-down kiss, and the MCU has recreated covers by Ditko, Kirby and Ross. Identifying one means naming the issue, the artist and the page, which is why it is the most citable motif in the catalogue.

Spotted one we haven't?

This list grows with the catalogue: every time a new title is combed through, its eggs are tagged and any Comic Panel Recreation instances land here automatically. If a film you know belongs on this page is missing, it is almost certainly because we have not covered the film yet — tell us which one to do next.
