The Things You Missed

Does Avengers: Doomsday have a post-credit scene?

2026 · Anthony Russo, Joe Russo

The answer

Not confirmed yet

Not yet knowable — Avengers: Doomsday doesn't open until December 18, 2026, so no post-credits count exists yet. History cuts both ways: the Russos' Avengers: Endgame famously had zero tags, while Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps both used Russo-directed credits scenes to set Doomsday up. We'll post the exact scene count and a spoiler-light description on release night.

What we know so far

There is no verified answer yet, and any page giving you a number today is guessing. Avengers: Doomsday opens December 18, 2026 — still months out as this entry stands — so no credits sequence exists to sit through and no scene count can be honestly reported. Marvel has released four character teasers, a marathon cast-reveal livestream and, out of San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026, a full trailer built around Doctor Doom's throne room. None of it touches the credits.

The precedent genuinely cuts both ways. Joe and Anthony Russo have skipped the tag before on the largest possible stage: Avengers: Endgame ran its entire crawl without a stinger, ending on nothing but the clang of a hammer on metal over black — the sound of Tony Stark building the Mark I in a cave, a full stop rather than a hook. Avengers: Infinity War, by contrast, closed on Nick Fury's pager and a single purple-and-gold logo, one of the most effective stingers Marvel has ever cut.

The complicating factor is that Doomsday is the payoff to a chain of stingers rather than the start of one. Thunderbolts\ ended on the New Avengers, The Fantastic Four: First Steps handed the baton to Doom directly, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day closed in July 2026 by pushing its hero clean off the planet. Everything is pointing forward, and Avengers: Secret Wars* is already dated for December 2027 — a sequel arriving twelve months later is exactly the situation in which Marvel plants something.

Treat anything more specific as rumour. Leaked scene descriptions circulate ahead of every Marvel release and are wrong at least as often as they are right. This page will carry the real count, the real placement and a spoiler-light description within hours of the first public screenings; until then the honest number is zero, because nothing has been shown to anyone.
