Does Michael have a post-credit scene?

*There is no post-credits scene in Michael, and no mid-credits scene either.* Once the Bad World Tour finale ends, the credits roll uninterrupted for their full length and nothing plays over or after them. If you are deciding whether to stay, the honest answer is that you can leave — with one small caveat below.

The confusion is easy to explain. The film's most stinger-like beat happens before the crawl starts, not after it. Michael finishes "Bad" in front of 90,000 people at Wembley Stadium in 1988, raises his hand across his face in the signature pose, and the picture cuts abruptly to black. A solitary title card appears: "His Story Continues." It looks and functions exactly like a Marvel-style tag — a promise that there is more story to tell — which is why a large share of the opening-weekend audience assumed it was a set-up for something waiting at the end of the credits. It isn't. It is the last frame of the movie proper.

That card did turn out to mean something. Lionsgate confirmed a sequel on 21 May 2026, and roughly thirty per cent of the original three-and-a-half-hour assembly — material covering the later career this cut deliberately stops short of — is reportedly available for it. The theatrical film ends in 1988 because a clause in a 1994 legal settlement forbade any depiction of the 1993 allegations, forcing a rewritten third act and 22 days of reshoots. "His Story Continues" is the film acknowledging its own missing chapters.

The one reason to sit tight: the very final card of the credits, after every last crew name has gone by, reads "Dedicated to Tito Jackson." Tito, the Jackson 5's guitarist and an executive producer on the film alongside his surviving brothers, died in September 2024, months after the shoot wrapped and well before release. It is a single line of white text with no music sting behind it, and it is the closest thing Michael has to a stinger.
