Does Ready Player One have a post-credit scene?
2018 · Steven Spielberg · 140 min
The answer
No post-credit scene
Nothing — no mid-credits or post-credits scene. Spielberg has never used credit stingers in his films, and outlets like TheWrap and ScreenRant confirmed the story wraps completely before the credits roll. Fittingly, a movie about hunting hidden extras hides nothing after the end title.

What plays over the credits instead
Nothing during the credits and nothing after them, which with this director is close to a guarantee. Steven Spielberg has essentially never used a credits sting in five decades of feature work, and Ready Player One is no exception; after-credits trackers log both fields as a flat no.
There is a small irony there. This is a film whose entire plot is a hunt for a hidden extra, whose hero wins by reading a dead designer's ephemera more carefully than anyone else bothered to, and which is packed with somewhere between 120 and 150 licensed background references depending on whose count you trust. And it hides absolutely nothing behind the end title.
It also does not need a tease, because the last scene closes a loop rather than opening one. Wade takes control of the OASIS and immediately shuts it down two days a week — Tuesdays and Thursdays — forcing everyone, himself included, back into the real world. That is the answer to the question the film has spent two hours asking, and a stinger promising more OASIS would undercut it flatly.
For the record, sequel material does exist: Ernest Cline published Ready Player Two in 2020 and a follow-up film has been discussed on and off since. None of it is seeded here, in the credits or anywhere else. Spielberg's version ends exactly where it ends.
