Does Sinners have a post-credit scene?

Two, and the first one is not optional — a large share of viewers treat the mid-credits sequence as the real ending of Sinners.

It arrives early in the crawl, just after the principal cast cards, and it runs long. The film jumps sixty years to Chicago in 1992, where Sammie is an old bluesman with his own club, played by Buddy Guy — casting that doubles as an argument, since Guy is one of the last living links to the Delta players the film is about. He finishes a set, sits down at the bar, and two people walk in who should not exist: Stack and Mary, unaged since 1932, dressed for the nineties. What follows is an unhurried conversation about the night you have just watched and the six decades Sammie built on top of it. They make him an offer. He turns it down and plays for them instead. They leave him to it.

The second scene comes after the full credits and lasts under two minutes: young Sammie alone in his father's church, guitar in hand, singing This Little Light of Mine. It answers the film's prologue rather than extending its plot.

Neither is a setup in the Marvel sense — Ryan Coogler wrote Sinners as an original and no sequel has been announced. What the mid-credits scene does instead is settle the film's central trade: Stack got eternity and Sammie got the music, and only one of them still has anything to say by 1992. The door it leaves open is atmospheric rather than contractual — two vampires walking around the twentieth century with all that history behind them is a premise whether or not anyone ever shoots it.

Stay for both. The wait for the second is the price of the first, and the first is among the best scenes in the movie.
