Does The Super Mario Galaxy Movie have a post-credit scene?

Two, and they point at two different Nintendo films rather than one. The first lands partway through the credits; the second waits until every last name has gone.

The first picks up in a Mushroom Kingdom lock-up. Forbes has Lumalee — the tiny blue Luma from the 2023 film whose entire personality is a cheerful yearning for the sweet release of death — working as a prison guard over the incarcerated Bowser and Bowser Jr. Handing the franchise's most nihilistic character authority over its most theatrical villain is the best joke in the sequence. In the same beat Fox McCloud's ship is repaired and he "says farewell to a Toad correctional officer before setting off on his next journey"; Kotaku describes the same moment as Fox flying away from the prison holding Bowser and his son.

The second returns to the Gateway Galaxy hub, where the monkey thief Ukiki lifts one bag too many and is stopped by Princess Daisy, making her debut in the film series. She does not speak: Kotaku notes she "doesn't speak in the scene, so we'll likely have to wait a couple of years before we find out who her voice actor will be in the movies." The 2023 film closed its own credits with a wordless tease as well — a Yoshi egg — so Nintendo and Illumination are repeating a trick that worked.

The setups are unusually legible. Fox's exit reads as a Star Fox spin-off in all but announcement, and Forbes frames it that way too: the film gave him an origin, a supporting arc and a working ship, then wrote him out with somewhere to go. Daisy's arrival is the next Mario hook — Kotaku expects it means a part in a sequel — and Bowser, imprisoned rather than beaten, is filed away for whichever comes first.

Both are worth staying for, and given how much of this film's best material hides in its backgrounds, the credits are not the place to stop paying attention.
