In Memoriam Dedication
A card at the end of the credits, or a detail buried in the film itself, honouring someone who died during or shortly after production — a cast member, a crew member, an author whose book was adapted. Because these are placed after most of the audience has left, they function as easter eggs by accident of exhibition rather than by design, and they frequently explain otherwise puzzling choices earlier in the film.
