Foreshadowed in Background Art
The ending painted on the wall behind the actors: a mural, a child's drawing, a poster, a tapestry or a painting whose composition states the twist long before the script does. Because production design is locked before an audience sees a single frame, these are set in stone from the first day of shooting, which makes them the most reliable class of planted foreshadowing and the most satisfying on a rewatch.
