Cameos that mean something

A cameo is a casting decision doing double duty. Sometimes it is the director stepping into their own frame, sometimes the author of the source novel handing over a drink, sometimes an actor from a previous version of the same story appearing as somebody else entirely so the recast becomes a passing of the torch rather than a replacement. We catalogue the ones that carry meaning — a famous face in a crowd is trivia; a famous face chosen because of what that face used to be is an easter egg.
